NENA’s digital library concept was selected by the African Union Commission at the Innovating Education In Africa Expo in Gaborone (Botswana) as one of the best innovations in education in Africa.
The solution proposed by NENA was selected for its contribution to improving access, quality and inclusion of education in Africa within the framework of the African Union Agenda 2063. It is specifically about the goal 2 having “well educated citizens and skills revolution underpinned by Science, Technology and Innovation” related to the priority area of “Education and STI skills driven revolution”.
Nearly 450 participants from more than forty countries attended the event with delegations led by the Ministers of Education of the Member States. The event showcased some 40 solutions selected from 300 projects on technical and social innovations based on information and communication technologies in education and training.
One of the main recommendations made at the Forum was to encourage African innovators in the education sector and help them to give visibility to their innovations for further development and expansion. Expand platforms that facilitate networking, sharing of experiences and mutual support.
